iPhone or Droid?

There’s been so much discussion about the war between the iPhone and the Droid.  I personally have both.  And yes I utilize two different carriers (ATT and Verizon).

Honestly, there’s so many pros and cons to each:

Apps: The apps on the iPhone are hands down the best.  People are constantly creating and downloading apps on iTunes, whereas the Droid market is growing, but still not to par to iTunes.  A local bar, called Buddha Athens (developed by Mobi Interactive), has their bar app on both, and I like the layout on the iPhone better. IPHONE WINS!

User Friendly: I’ve used both the iPhone and Droid, and honestly, I will have to say that these two are very similar.  They are both user friendly and the differences are minimal. TIE!

Design: The iPhone feels very sleek.  The Droid feels like a machine device. IPHONE WINS!

Flexibility: The iPhone doesn’t allow too much personalization with the home page.  The Droid allows users to change the home page and what is viewed on the  main page.  DROID WINS!

Wireless Carriers: Verizon wins hands down, reception is great everywhere (Can you hear me now).  With Verizon,  I drop a phone call about once every 3 months (if that). The iPhone (ATT) drops phone calls about once a day or every 2 days.  DROID WINS!

Email/Gmail: Through Droid’s Gmail app, emails get pushed immediately.  Not as great as a Blackberry, but anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes per email.  The iPhone’s email system is good, but not on par with the Droid, especially if you have a gmail account.  DROID WINS!

Cost: Well with Verizon you will pay a pretty penny for its awesome service.  Also, ATT now has different options for even data to help curb down costs. IPHONE WINS!

Conclusion: 1 tie, 3 points for the iPhone, and 3 points for the Droid.  What it really comes down to is preference.  Make sure you handle both phones and see how it feels, the weight of it, etc.  Also, it depends if your friends/family are mostly ATT users or Verizon.  If they’re neither, then this shouldn’t matter too much.  Tell me what’s the right phone for you and why.

Setting up the tech side of a business can be overwhelming.  And it’s possible that implementing computer services might not be your forte.  Plenty of people who run successful businesses do not know how to effectively and powerfully utilize all of the services that technology has to offer.  And some may think that it’s a little overwhelming!

So let’s say that you wanted to open up a restaurant.  Before you get started, you’ll have to know a variety of things such as equipment, licensing, chefs, payrolls, etc.  But one thing that you shouldn’t have to worry about is tech marketing; such as building your website, utilizing SEO (Search Engine Optimization), email blast campaigns, or building a smartphone marketing app.  These are all sales/marketing strategies that get your business in the face of your potential customers.  Do the one thing that you should do as a business owner… run your business.  Leave the tech side to companies like Mobi Interactive. Business apps

I just started getting into smartphone apps for the iphone and droid. There’s a lot of companies that charge 10 or 20 grand for an app!!! Now as a small business owner, that is an incredulous amount for what it’s used for.  Marketing your business in the mobile industry is imperative nowadays.  So I’ve done my research and know which direction I have to take.

One app creator that I found was www.mobiinteractive.com.  Mobi Interactive has a clean setup on the way they do things, and I’ve seen some apps that they’ve created for salons and bars, and I think that their price point is fair. They also do some SEO stuff for you, and help market your app to get it out to the general public.

With the mobile industry increasing ever-so popular these days, it’s no wonder why so many big companies and corporations are getting into mobile apps. One of the great things about having an app is that it allows all that information within the click (or touch) of a button on your phone!
